Traditional mead generally describes mead made only with hone, yeast and water. This is how the purists describe a traditional mead. The Mazer Cup, which is America’s mead competition, used a distinction made in some European mead competitions and designated the “Show” mead as a category in which no additional flavoring can be added.
Our Show mead is made with the finest Orange Blossom Honey producing wonderful, citrus notes.
Mike from Painted Stave offers a third video on the whiskey-making process. This time showing us the distilling process.
Mike from Painted Stave continues his behind the scenes look at the whiskey-making process by showing the fermentation.
As you sit back and enjoy that glass of whiskey, do you ever wonder how it made its way into your glass? Making great whiskey is a long, painstaking process but the great people at Painted Stave feel it is worth it to ensure you get nothing but the very best. Watch Mike from the Painted Stave show the beginning of the whiskey-making process.
We love chocolate any day, any time. Today is National Chocolate Day and that has us thinking about pairing Delaware wines with chocolate!
Fenwick Wine Cellars in Selbyville recommends their High Tide or Merlot for a delicious simple chocolate pairing.
In Marydel, Harvest Ridge Winery recommends the following based on what type of chocolate you’re enjoying:
-for milk chocolate or light chocolate desserts (think mousse), try their Merlot or sweeter sparkling wines like their Sparkling Vidal Blanc
-dark chocolate demands something hearty like Harvest Ridge’s soon to be released Chamfort, a port-style wine (oops! Did we just get a tip on a hot new offering? Yes!)
If you’re going “classic”, you can’t go wrong with chocolate dipped strawberries and Harvest Ridge Winery’s Sparkling Vidal Blanc.
There you have it! Perfectly delicious chocolate pairings, great for National Chocolate Day or any time you’re feeling a need for a little treat!
